BUSECO holds 1st BMCEC Information Officer Congress
The Bukidnon Second Electric Cooperative (BUSECO) recognizes the importance of informing and educating its Member Consumer Owners and truly believes the importance of Member Consumer Empowerment Program. With education and empowerment, BUSECO will gain massive support from the grassroots level and the realization of its dream of becoming a World Class Organization will be surely hastened.
On February 20-21, 2015, BUSECO successfully held its 1st BMCEC Information Officer Congress. Information Officers from 172 barangays were gathered for them to keep posted on the status of the cooperative and were also being capacitated through seminar-workshop.
The two-day congress was formally started with BUSECO Prayer, followed by National and Provincial Anthem. Casisang BMCEC Chairperson Ms. Erlinda Basera then acknowledged the participants of the said congress. BOD Vice president Charlie C. Castillanes formally opened the program. Mr. Agripino Mangaron, CWMODS Division Chief at that juncture gave the rationale of the congress for the appreciation of the attendees. GM Deiter Hoff P. Arellano then apprised the Information Officer of the status of the cooperative through presenting the 2014 Accomplishments and 2015 Priority Targets. Power Supply Situation and its Impact to MCOs was then tackled by Corplan Manager Christopher A. Dulfo. The first day of the congress was then concluded with a fellowship to give ample time to the participants to mingle with its other.
On the second day, Mr. Juancho T. Chiong, BOMD Branch Manager discussed the Financial Assistance and Procedures. Open forum was then facilitated to ensure common understanding of the topic presented.
To capacitate further the BMCEC IO, a seminar-workshop was conducted. ABS-CBN reporter Rod Bolivar and Angelo Andrade then gave a lecture on the Role of Information Officer / Media in the Community / Organizational Development. TV reporting workshop was then carried out. To hone further their capabilities, PR Man/MSEAC President Mr. Rolando Galarrita tackled Public Relation and Community Education. The congress was concluded with the giving of certificates to the participants and a closing remarks from Director Father Danilo Paciente.
BUSECO considers the congress a milestone to celebrate for such marked the starts of empowering further its BMCEC IO. With the empowerment and strengthened partnership, BUSECO believes that its mission of involving the MCOs to BUSECO’s operation as the true owner of the cooperative will be truly achieve and be of great help with the aspiration of the cooperative of becoming a World Class Organization in the upcoming years.
